Matthew Hurley (he/him)

Matthew is an experienced consultant and education professional with a strong background in quality assurance, effectiveness, and enhancement across diverse institutional contexts within the further and higher education (FE/HE) sectors.

Since 2023, he has worked with the team at Microsoft Ireland Dream Space on quality assurance development, implementation and promotion, regulatory compliance, programme development, promoting academic standards and academic integrity, and overseeing the operation of Academic Registry functions.

Matthew also has significant experience as a Report Writer and Panel Member on quality assurance and programme (re)validation panels, having participated in over 60 panel events on behalf of QQI for a variety of public and private FE and HE providers and authored over 80 reports.

As a consultant, Matthew has a varied and substantial portfolio of experience, working on and supporting projects including: the review of the Collaboration and Innovation Fund (2025-26), the External Evaluation of National RPL in Higher Education Project (2024-25), the Periodic Review of MSc Portfolio, Nottingham University Business School (2024), the development of integrated award standards for Business, Levels 5-9 (2023), the review of access, transfer and progression practice in Ireland (2023), and the Thematic and System-Level Analysis of the Higher Education Institution Annual Quality Reports (2023).
