ThreeSixtyInsights was commissioned by the Technological Higher Education Association (THEA), on behalf of THEA and the Irish Universities Association (IUA) to undertake the external expert evaluation of the National Recognition of Prior Learning in Higher Education Project (2024-2025). This five year project was funded by the Higher Education Authority under Pillar 3 of the Human Capital Initiative with a total budget of circa €6.9 million, involving 14 of Ireland's publicly funded higher education institutions (HEIs) as project partners. The evaluation team reviewed a substantive volume of project data and documentation and engaged directly via workshops, focus groups, interviews and surveys with stakeholders. Direct inputs were obtained from the project steering group members as well as senior leaders and project staff within participating HEIs, current and past learners, employers and enterprise representatives. The findings and recommendations emerging from the evaluation were published in both summary form and within a full report.
